Xpression "processing" my graphic in sequencer

  • 1.  Xpression "processing" my graphic in sequencer

    Posted 01-21-2022 18:32
I have a project outputting a couple of scenes to our monitors. I added a scene I want to put over the top into the sequencer. When i go to put it on line it says "Preparing" and goes bold. Then it fails to go to the output. Also when i make a change to the current online scenes they don't seem to update the graphic.

    Any help here?

Once a scene is online it is a copy, to make changes you usually put another scene online. The methods for changing data while they are online is through datalinq or datapages.

    Thanks Simon,
I am not trying to make changes to the Scene online but rather put an aditional scene on another layer on top of the online scene.

    Hi Pat,

When you said it says "Preparing" and goes bold, does "Preparing" ever change to "Online" (or "Paused" if you have a pause in the scene director)? If not, it could be that the scene is taking too many resources to go online.

If it does change, then try cueing it first, not long before you need it with the period key on the numeric keypad, and then take it when the status is "Cued". That way it comes on exactly when you need it, rather than after an unpredictble amount of time.

    Hi James,

No it does not go online or pause. I have tried cuing it and it says "Processing" and then nothing. I am trying to put it on a different layer but the same output as another graphic.

    Hi Pat,

Could you look at the performance monitor up the top of the XPression window when you take the scene online and see if it maxes out?

What sort of items do you have in the scene?

    James.

    Hey James,

The performance and memory are fine, quite low (around0). Its just a bunch of quads and there is a control scene and a guide scene we had built. I think there is something wrong with an output configuration or something, I can take the online scenes off and back on, but if i edit them in any way the changes don't come through...

Are you editing them in layout or in sequence?

The edit is in layout and then putting online in sequence

This may not be your issue, but maybe the framebuffer is set wrong for the scene? Just check that it's the same one that everything else is going to, and not some disconnected framebuffer such as a RossLinq one that's not set up properly (i.e. pointing to a switcher that isn't running or wrong IP address).

As for the editing issue, see what Red asked.

Thanks, Ill have a look at the framebuffer, I think there is only the one though.

Are you working in a Tessera setup with blue boxes where you need to publish your project?  If you are working with blue boxes, if that scene you are trying to play online has not been published to your project server, then the blue boxes do not know that the scene exist.  So while it is in your main Xpression, it is not loaded on your blue boxes, so then you need to publish your project.
