  • 1.  Controlling audio devices through dashboard

    Posted 10-15-2024 09:57

    Hi,

I'm looking for a way to remote control a Yamaha CL series console with dashboard. Basicly I would like to set labels to the console.

The same way I would like to set labels for the Dante streams

and the labels  into my multitrack recorder (MT128 or reaper)

is there a way to communicate with these devices yamaha dante and multi track recorder

    Regards

    Hi Boris,

I checked Yamaha CL series specification and unfortunately could not find any information on any protocol to control it remotely. For a device to integrate with any other system, both controller and device should have a mutual standard implemented. Ross can control devices which follows OpenGear protocol.

Having said that, there is some information available here which might be helpful:
    Yamaha (rossvideo.com)

Within the community there is some discussion here as well:
Carbonite and Yamaha CL-series Mixer | Production Switchers (rossvideo.community)

You can also search the Community Forum for your device, i.e. "Yamaha CL" or "Yamaha".

    Regards,

    Hi Boris,

We utilize the Yamaha RCP protocol to recall saved scenes on our QL with dashboard.  Just sending TCP commands I believe.  If you search the Internet there's some documentation on the RCP protocol out there but I don't know if there's a way to change labels.

    Hi,

thanks we effectively found this solution using TCP commands. It allows to configure a lot of things on the Yamaha like labels colors icons and more like fader positions.

the Yamaha give feed back as well

it's pretty cool one of our EIC is coding a dashboard custom panel we'll share the result with you guys as soon as we can!

    cheers
