  • 1.  how to add Stats Perform (API) Datalinq Source

    Hi all

Working for a swiss soccer club i now have to get my game statistics over Opta Stats Perform.
I got my SDAPI Activation Details, but i really have no plan, how to implement that in my data linq server.
Is anybody here a specialist in that and could help me?

The problem is, i don't want to post here my activation details to everybody, so perhaps i could get support via mail?

    Thx in advance
    Markus

To at least get you started..

Add a Stats Perform API Datalinq Source to your Datalinq Server

On the HTTP config tab put in your API Key and Secret

On the Settings Tab, put in the URL to the StatsPerform data feed.

And then you can watch this XPression U video about how to use the Dynamic URL features of the XPression Datalinq Server:

Garner or Simon, has there been any changes on the backend that has affected this functionality? I have correct credentials that work fine when tested via Postman, but in Datalinq Server, nothing loads.

Did your same credentials work in an older version of Datalinq?

This is my first time trying. My main Designer machine I am testing on is 10.5 so I wondered if it was a version issue so I tried it in V12, same problem.

Which of the Stat Perform Datalinq Sources are you trying to use?

The API one is much newer and probably the one you should be trying to use.

Yep thats the one I am using. And I have the correct APIKey and Secret Key on the HTTP Config tab second tab. I have tried both https and http in the URL. Both of which work when tested on Postman as well. If you want to DM, I can let you test it on your end.

    @Garner Millward,

I am having the same issue as @Carlito Chippy

I can get data through Postman, but cannot get it to show in Datalinq.

    Anyway you can help?

    Hey Tristan,

I ended up contacting Ross support directly and I will share my conclusion with you and then Garner can correct if I missed anything.

So I had gotten the impression that the Xpression Statsperform Datalinq option was able to do the Oauth authentication the way Postman does it for example, based on what support told me, this does not seem to be the case and I have tried various ways. Their advice was that I had to get the IP whitelisting done from Opta.

"For this source specifically, no. OAuth is an optional way to authenticate against the SDAPI, but we have elected to use the IP whitelisting method. We support OAuth in the RSS/HTTP source, but we have never integrated SDAPI using that method, and therefore cannot provide guidance."

This for me makes this Datalinq option misleading because if I need to the the IP whitelisting, then at this point I can just plug the complete XML URL from Opta direct into a RSS Datalinq option instead. Which is what I eventually had to do. I was just trying to avoid having to constantly emailing Opta to whitelist the various IPs we use, which changes quite a bit.

I did try the RSS/HTTP Oauth, since it seems its possible, but I did not have any luck.
