  • 1.  Issues with Crawl - animating text and publishing text

    Posted 09-08-2023 04:47

    Hello all,

I created a crawl using Scene Groups. The parent scene has a background bar, a title text on the left and also another quad that sits higher on the Z axis, so the crawling text goes underneath, simulating a mask.

Here are the issues that I'm facing:

1- The pause between the loops is too big, since the crawl has to make his way to the end of the left side of the screen (even though is not showing). Is there a way to crop the output? Or to adjust the loop time?

2- I can animate in and out the background bar and text (at the parent scene) but can't animate in/out the crawling text (child scene). Any way to trigger a scene director on the child scene when animating out the parent? I've tried a "trigger" on the parent 'Out' scene director and it didn't work

3- I wish I could edit the crawling text on Sequencer (publish template links) but it won't show up in the Sequencer, since only the parent scene shows up on Sequencer. Any ideas?

    Thank you in advance!

have you tried playin with this settings ?

Also if the page is cropped to its size unless there is an object in the scene, are you sure you don't have something like a quad background or something in there, that will make it play the full width?

    2. Normally I cover the text with a mask in the parent scene, need to be in front on Z and cannot be in a layer group.

    3. I have a solution for this but requires scripting, would you like a sample?

    Thanks Simon for the reply,

I did play with all those settings before and no luck, I wasn't able
to achieve the desired results. Can't seem to restrict the output of
the crawling text in order to make it loop faster (from the moment it
disappears behind the mask (left side) and it starts showing again
(right side). Note that I'm not trying to restrict the output of the
parent scene, only the text that crawls (child).

About issue number 2, I also used a mask to "out" the crawling text
but this is not the effect that I wanted. I wanted to animate the text
down (along with the background bar on the parent group) or fade it at
    least.

And yes, I would like a sample of the script you used to be able to
publish the crawling text. That would be helpful.

    Thanks again,
