Need help creating a countdown clock for an event.

    Hey there.

I'm trying to create a countdown to an event coming up here in a few weeks and was wondering what I need to do to make that work. It needs to be a real time clock that will countdown to the event going from days, hours, minutes, and seconds. I was wondering if I could get any help setting this up. Thanks!

    Hey Daryl!

Here's a solution to your problem; just a quick 3-block solution using Visual Logic!
Open up visual logic for your scene (The Orange and White Block button to the right of "Window"), and there's only these blocks that you need, highlighted in Yellow:
The "Clock" block represents the current date and time.
The "Encode Date Time" block represents the day and time you're counting down to. By clicking on the block, you can enter in values for this date.
The "Time Delta" actually subtracts the two DateTimes, and outputs the Days, Hours, Minutes, and Seconds for you to use in whatever way you want!

I see that some folks have inquired about how to do a countdown. Well, if you want to use Visual Logic to do it, it is pretty easy. We have created a video tutorial on how to do it a while back and posted it  on the XPression U. site on the Ross Video website.
Here is a link to the specific tutorial on counting down to a date and or time in XPression with Visual Logic

You should search for "counting" down. You will find the B144 lesson :-).

Hi Patrick, Your tutorial was certainly helpful and thanks for sharing. I want to show all "00" once it reaches the target time.  How do I achieve that.  Thanks in advance.

Use equal to with visibility of dummy text 00

Main counter will be visibility  off and 00 object will on.

    Ariful,

There are several ways to execute this, as you will see the suggestions which are starting to appear in this thread. To get a countdown, you could use XPression WIdgets to count down and set a STOP time. you will just need to build multiple widgets and use CLOCK TIME to start the widgets and the Widget will stop at 00:00.
