Sorry, I missed part of what your were talking about… Yes I have scripts on the Scene Director that control playback. My main problem now is getting the preview to work correctly on the HTML 5 MOS plugin.
I've tried adding the material to a track and just leaving the track off, but it still seems to interfere with the tracks that have the scripts. Attached is a screen cap of where the tracks are that do the pause - noPause. and the script. The scripts on the timeline are simple and I think I found them elsewhere. They are simply material pauses and plays.
I just tried adding a script to OnPreview that turns off the first two tracks and enables the preview, but that causes the same problems.

My guess it doesn't care because I think it becomes a "volatile material", in coding terms.
If it is meant to be a video material you should use a holder video so you can make video settings like looping or holding last frame. Otherwise you need to use VB (coding) to make those settings.
Can someone from Ross confirm that what I stated is correct?

I figured out my "Phantom Material" problem. Somehow with the Video Coder, the AVI file I made wasn't just the one frame from one image. I had a two frame movie with both the CG2 and the CG3 sequential. But now I know, just because it's a holder for a video, it doesn't care if a PNG image is placed in it instead.
Now back to trying to figure out the NRCS plugin preview thing…

I think I found my solution. I read through some other threads and found a nugget of info. I replaced the AVI file with a still image.
Now to figure out the preview thing…

I'm working on the same video player scene. I made two short movie clips to be the default slates. "CG2" and "CG3". I have one material for CG2 and I had used the CG3 AVI but then set the video shader back to the CG2 movie.
Now even after deleting the material and remaking it, deleting the quad the material was on and rebuilding it. It always displays the CG3 movie file in the scene. Where is this file being cached? I've restarted the machine, I've shut down the machine. I went into the project server and deleted the CG3 movie. I can't get rid of the CG3 movie.
Thanks for any help,
