    Subject: Ross Video Carbonite Black Solo - Reboots During Recording (High CPU Temperature)

    Dear Ross Video Support,

    I am writing to report an issue with my Ross Video Carbonite Black Solo switcher. During recordings, the switcher unexpectedly reboots, causing disruptions and data loss.

    Problem Description:

    • The unexpected reboots occur intermittently during the recording process.
    • I have monitored the CPU temperature, and it reaches around 55 to 60 degrees Celsius during operation.

    Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

    • I have verified that the Carbonite Black Solo is running the latest available software version (please specify the version I currently have if possible).
    • I have ensured proper ventilation around the unit and confirmed it's not exposed to direct sunlight.

    Possible Cause:

    Based on the high CPU temperature readings, I believe the reboots might be caused by overheating.

    Solution:

    • I am considering using a desk fan positioned near the unit to improve airflow.

    Request:

    • Could you please confirm if using a desk fan is a safe and effective approach for cooling the Carbonite Black Solo?
    • Additionally, are there any recommendations for alternative cooling solutions that are compatible with the switcher?
    • I would appreciate it if you could advise if there are any recent firmware updates available that might further optimize thermal performance.

    I would recommend opening a ticket or calling support to start a ticket process for this.

    There are internal Fans in the Solo Switcher.  From DashBoard you can go to the Status page to see that they are up and running.

    This is what it looks like with a unit running in our racks here in the Lab.  This is not the All in one it is the Frame version but they use the same components.
