  • 1.  XPression supported SMPTE 2110 output cards

    Hi,

    I was wondering if there were any other IP video cards which have been tested/validated with XPression apart from the Matrox one?

    I'm not a big fan of Matrox so ideally I'm looking for another brand.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hey Kenneth,

    How is it going?

    We have been using multiple AJA Kona IP cards for years. Unfortunately the Kona IP is 'end of life' since a few years, but maybe you can get one (or more) on Ebay, Marktplaats, or similar websites.

    I was happy to learn at the IBC that AJA is finally about to launch a new IP card, which will be at the end of the year. Double the cost of the old card (so what else is new), but more capable than the old one and still a lot cheaper than the Matrox cards. And also a lot easier to get your hands on. We'll have to see though what the support in XPression will be. But, having said that, we used the Kona IP before it was officially supported by XPression (if it every really was). Due to the unified drivers of AJA, chances are that it will work. The specific IP settings, however, we always had to do in the AJA Control Panel, since that never worked through XPression, but those are obviously setting exclusive to IP cards.
