Hello,

I have setup a GPI triggering a CC. However I’d like to somehow disable the GPI temporarily during the production (because the GPI is sometimes unreliable and I want to affoid it to take effect then). So either I need to disable the GPI at all, disable the CC or assign it to a blank… Have you got an idea how I can achieve that with maybe a single button press or a CC?

Marc

This is not possible currently in the switcher.

I would suggest that you have one Installation settings that has the GPI set to OFF and then another Setup that has the GPI enabled.

Then you can just recall that different setup file.

That said your better off just setting it to none – it’s faster.

Mhhh.. I’m not sure whether I feel comfortable enough to load sets during the production.

One big problem I see with this solution is, that you can only save the entire installation, so you need to make sure all other installation parameters are identical in the two sets.

Furthermore you still need to manually load the sets via the load button, isn’t it?

Maybe it’s an idea to include this feature in the future? 🙂

What is triggering this GPI? What is the device?

Les:

Keep in mind I don’t trigger GPIs in my situation. But could Marc keep the GPI state OFF. Then build a custom control within his show turning the GPI ON / run it / then turn the GPI OFF?

No the GPI configuration can not be Learned as part of the Custom Control.

Well the 2 GPIs are coming from 2 simple physical buttons, that are operated by one of the hosts during some parts of the show. Can’t make it more reliable, if that was your intention.

Marc,

One idea I had is to build 3 Customs:

1st- The actual custom you want to trigger with the GPI but make the first command a Hold and the last command a loop

2nd- A CC that just resumes the first CC and attach the GPI to this one

3rd- A CC that Cancels the first CC (a blank CC also works but stops all CC’s)

If you want to use the GPI trigger, hit the first CC, the GPI triggers the Resume CC and at the end loops and sits at the hold again for another resume command. If you don’t want the GPI to work, cancel the the First CC. The resume should only work if the CC is at the “Held” state.

I haven’t had a chance to try this so it is a theory at this point. Good luck.

Hiho Brandon,

I just tried out your awesome idea. It works perfectly, just like intended 🙂

Thanks a lot Brandon. I will probably use it in the future.

The only little downside is, you need to make sure, the macro keeps running and isn’t stopped, but that should be possible.

Greetings

Marc
