# XPression and NDI and Alpha

Hi there!

We have a situation where we have to bring in some external graphics from Singular.  
Reason is because we are a school and we’re going to produce a soccer game as practise for our students, but the producers demand that the stream use their graphics. Not our own…

Using Singular Recast, I can get the HTML 5 source from them and use Recast to convert it to an NDI stream.  
And from there I can grab that into the NDI input on XPression and use that material on a background covering the whole screen, and voila! It even shows that it works with Alpha in the designer, so I assume that this might be outdated?

However, we are having some issues with the Alpha channel. It appears choppy and “wrong” around the edges of the graphics.  
Is this a known problem? Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? We are running Xpression version 11.5 at the moment.

I don’t have an NDI source with Alpha to test with, but have you tried changing the source mode on the Live Input material?

Support for NDI inputs with alpha was added in XPression v10.5, so any version 10.5 and above will have it.
