  • 1.  Fire Custom Button in Dashboard with Rosstalk

    Posted 03-13-2024 12:18

I built a custom panel in Dashboard with a bunch of buttons that load and fire clips on a couple Trias. The buttons work as intended if I click on them in Dashboard. I can't seem to figure out how to send a RossTalk command from an XPression or Carbonite that will fire one of my buttons on my custom panel in Dashboard. I enabled RossTalk GPI Listener in preferences in Dashboard, and I have a GPI/O board configured in XPression that communicates to the IP of the Dashboard computer on the correct port. I am not sure how to program the button in Dashboard to receive a command, or what the command is that I'd put in the XPression RossTalk event.

    Hi Brian

The last step you need is  to assign a "Trigger ID" to the button.  The Trigger ID can be a String or a Number.  In the picture below, I selected "12" as the Trigger ID for my button - this means I can trigger the button in DashBoard by sending the RossTalk message "GPI 12" to the RossTalk port you selected in Preferences.
