When using the OG3-FR-CN frame does existing cards with Ethernet connectors on the rear panel get a gig Ethernet connection via the internal switch or is this something that only new cards will support?

Is it possible to field upgrade at a later date to from a -C to a -CN frame/card?

Hi Philip,

New cards are needed to take advantage of the internal gigabit switch. Existing cards will continue to use their own (dedicated) Ethernet connections on their rear modules.

Yes, you can field upgrade from -C to -CN by changing the network controller card. The frame remains the same.
