    Hi.

We're upgrading our old Talia EOS system to the following bits:

    NK-IPS

    NK-VRC

    NK-3G34

    NK-D16-75

    RCP-NKM x 5

    NK-JBX (to use old RCPs)

Using the latest dashboard, was able to get my head around most of it, but not sure if the NK-VRC has to sit in the T-BUS network in a particular spot. The examples I've found, (such as http://www.rossvideo.com/images/routers/diagrams/nk-ips-vrc_header.jpg) show it inbetween a RCP and the IPS. Does it need to be inline, or can it sit anywhere, ideally I'd run all my devices straight from the IPS 8x T-Bus outputs.

I ask because I'm getting "No Response" errors from the RCPs when trying to switch, running them in Virtual Routing enabled.

The Dashboard Switchboard works in Virtual Mode, and I can see the routing changes, update on the RCP panel display. And the RCP works fine if it's doesn't have Virtual Routing enabled.

The NK-VRC has the "B" LED on permanently, implying it hasn't got a response from the physical router perhaps?

The NK-IPS doesn't have any option to tell it about Virtual Routing does it?

Anyway thought I'd ask here, in case the T-Bus cabling/location for the VRC makes a difference or if there's advice.. otherwise I'll keep trying.. and liking the dashboard software better than the old Geneos I'm used to.

    Thanks

    Simon

    Hi Simon,

The NK-VRC does not need to be inline anywhere specifically in your system, no problems running it directly off one of the 8 Tbus connections from the NK-IPS.

In regard to the 'No Response' message, check the 'comms retry delay' value on each RCP panel config page in dashboard. We recommend a value of 20 when using the NK-VRC in the system.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the tip.. glad I don't have to have the NK-VRC inline,.

Had another play, and got the RCP working after I removed i/o for physical levels in the NK-VRC config I don't have hardware for, leaving just Levels 1 (MD) and 3 (AES) with source/destination physical addressing.

Haven't actually connected any signals yet, but control is looking good so far! Time to print out labels..

    Thanks
