  • 1.  Protect destinations on RCP-NKQ

    Hello everyone,

we are currently having problems configuring a destination protect button on our remote panels.

We are using a NK-3G72 with several RCP-NKQs and RCP-NKMs.

The router itself responds only to breakaway level 1 (MD Video). So I'm pretty sure that I have to set the level masks in the remote panels to only level 1 activated. But as soon as I hit the protect button I get a breakaway error.

Simple question: What am I doing wrong?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi Hendrik,

If you are getting a Breakaway warning, then somehow the panel is attempting to protect destinations on non-existent levels. Do you have any buttons on the panel as Level selects? Are these all set to level 1?

    Hi Chris,

    thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure that I assigned only source and destination buttons including a take button.

I deactivated all levels in all partitions except level 1 on partition 1 in the router config and did the same to all of the panels' breakaways and level masks.

There are no level select buttons on any of our panels.

On the NKMs I can protect a destination (giving me a warning in DashBoard) but it won't protect that destination on the NKQ. "Block other panels" is activated.

In this configuration the only switchable level should be level 1 (MD Video)...

    Hi Chris,

we got it working. We simply created a Display Button which shows the selected Breakaway. After that it worked. We removed the button and it still worked. Funny thing. We still don't know what happened.

But this leads to another issue:

Is there a way to display the protection status of a selected destination on the NKM when set on another panel? I can only see that it's protected when I try to assign a different source. I created a protect button on one of our linked NKMs (4 NKMs linked to get a 72x72 panel). I expected it to light up when a protected destination is selected. But this only works, if I set the protection on the linked 72x72 panel...

One solution would be to link ALL panels in our system. But this would be a little strange...

    Greetings,

    Hendrik
