  • 1.  customizable router virtual control panel in dashboard?

Will Dashboard do this? easily? I haven't found much information on this functionality. I have colleagues who are using dashboard instead of geneos to control their nk system and have told me this is not possible; That dashboard only supports virtual versions of hardware panels. Is this true? If it is possible, is it as easy as it is in geneos? is there scripting or other special configuring required? I would think it to be ironic if a nearly 20 year old piece of software is easier to use and has better functionality in this case than dashboard has with all of its flexibility and power. If this is possible it would be interesting to see if there was a way to adapt it to other routing systems, say an imagine platinum? Their router UI (navigator) leaves much to be desired...

    Hi Andrew,

The image is a little hard to make out, so I'm guessing a little at what some elements do.

From what we think your panel above is doing, yes, it should be doable. There is unfortunately one element of scripting required for part of it so it's not 100% straightforward.

We are going to go off and put a small example together to post for you, give us a day or so and we should hopefully have it ready.

    Troy.

Thank you Troy for your reply, let me clarify some on what a few things are on that panel:

-We configured the salvo buttons to be blue

-We configured labels to be green or grey

-We configured SD sources/destinations to be purple

-We configured HD sources/destinations to be yellow

-Salvos and sources are on the bottom half

-Destinations and their respective source are on the top

-The current selected destination for routing is on the left middle

This panel is super easy to configure, only a few buttons needed to do everything here, thank you for taking the time to come up with something in dashboard that duplicates this functionality! Maybe it can be something you build into DB for NK routers, Its super handy alongside a hardware panel.

    Hi Andrew,

I have it mostly working now, and in a state that is something you should be able to easily modify yourself.

It does require DashBoard V7.0 which is still in Beta (but I will put a version up that you can download).

DashBoard 7.0 has a really really powerful feature called 'Widgets' that makes this panel much much easier to create and modify which I've used for it.

Can you send an e-mail to me with your e-mail address and I will send you instructions and the files to use for this.

    My e-mail address is: tenglish@rossvideo.com
