    Hello BrainTrust members,

I currently have a NK-3G32 HDSDI VIDEO ROUTER; what I don't have is AES or embedded audio to pass through that device. Since my plant audio is entirely analog, I've been looking at the NK-A32HQ ANALOG AUDIO ROUTER as an add on to best utilize my existing audio format.

I have not found any information about audio breakout cables for the db25 I/O ports on the back plane of that router. Does anyone have experience installing an interface to an NK audio router via db25 connectors? Suggestions, products, interface designs are appreciated. Thank you, Blane

    Hello Blane,

The DB25 Ports each contain 4 stereo inputs or outputs (8 total channels). The wiring follows the old Tascam wiring convention for wiring analog or digital AES signals. The Pinout can be found in the appendix of our manual here:

Because we are using an industry standard pinout, you can find off the shelf breakouts to XLR (and other connectors) from the DB25, in the event where you are not directly connecting the router I/O to a custom patch panel. If you are planning the wiring yourself, We can certainly point you in the right direction for sourcing the components you would need.

Doing a search for 'DB25 Tascam XLR' brought up quite a few products if that is ideal for you.
