Hi Sajjad,
The short answer is that you can connect as many RAVE units to Ultrix as the number of Ultrix inputs. But there is a catch.
When an audio signal enters the RAVE unit, it gets converted from analog to digital, and is embedded on a SDI signal. Then, the SDI signal goes to Graphite. The signal between RAVE and Graphite is SDI. So it will work with Ultrix as well.
However, we say Graphite can only work with 3 RAVE units is because Graphite has control integration with RAVE. In addition to ADC/DAC and embed/de-embed, the RAVE also provides other functions like phantom power. These can be controlled from Graphite. When RAVE is connected to Ultrix, Ultrix does not have any control over RAVE. Ultrix will just receive the SDI with embedded audio.
Another option you can consider is one of our openGear cards, such as the MUX-8258 (https://www.rossvideo.com/signal-processing/mux-8258-4c-8c).
The range of audio embedder cards we offer is at the following link:

Axel,
Thank you for your suggestions, I prefer to use the breakout GRAPHITE-1RU-AUDBKM. My next question is like Graphite (which can use 3 RAVE) can I use multiple RAVE in Ultrix? How many?

Hi Syed,
In my opinion, you have two solutions to achieve this result with our products :
- Use a RAVE audio breakout to be able to get audio feeds as Ultrix inputs ( 4 in your case / 8 availables in total ) and outputs ( 4 in your case / 5 availables in total ) from Ultrix.
https://help.rossvideo.com/graphite/Topics/Features/Features.html. Then, in addition with that analog audio conversion, you could connect on already available HD-BNC ports or an AUX port as you mentioned. In that way, i believe that you need to order the following product code : GRAPHITE-1RU-AUDBKM.
- The second solution should be to use an AUX port as a MADI link but for now, we don't have any product able to do an analog <> MADI and MADI <> analog conversion, so you should find this kind of converter somewhere else. On the Ultrix side, you could to order the SFP-MADI-COAX and ULTRI-SRC license to allow you to get and send 64 audios channels then configure your routing on Ultrix and you're done. This method seems to me the more extensible one :)
Hope it helps !

Hi,
My customer wants to replace some existing 4 mono embedder and 4 mono de-embedder when they plan to buy new Master control - Ultrix MC1 with ULTRIX-NS-FR1 next time. Can I use the AUX ports, what will be the appropriate part number or recommended products that can take audio into Ultrix?
