  • 1.  Lock lock aspect?

This may seem strange, but is there any way to "lock" the lock aspect for images?

No one in my news production team can seem to understand that when they are not locking the aspect ratio and just randomly increasing the x and y they are distorting their images. I want them to be able to increase or decrease the size of the image, but not x or y independently.

I know it is absurd, but I'm at my wit's end. Any suggestions?

Yes, On the Quad object, you can enable the checkbox for "Maintain Aspect Ratio". It's in the object inspector.

You'll probably also want to switch the texture coordinates mode to "Border" instead of the default "Clamp". Otherwise the edge pixels will get repeated if the image is too small to fit in the quad..

I just went in and looked. On the Quad tab in Object Inspector for the image, "Maintain aspect ratio of texture" is indeed checked... am I missing something?

    Brittany,

Did you try changing the Texture Coords Mode from Clamp to Border?

    Hi guys,

Using Texture Scale instead of the regular Scale for an Image just doesn't work for us because each image that is selected is a different size and shape, so I want to be able to change the entire size of the Image and not just how large the texture is within a fixed Image size. I hope this makes sense. I appreciate your help, from now on I will just insist that everyone keep "Lock aspect" checked when they are increasing the scale of their images.
