Hi there!

I created a roll in the layout

and wanted an audio file to start playing at the same time

the roll is taken online in the sequence.

Is this possible? How can it be done?

You can add audio to the roll by dragging the audio clip from the "Audio Files" window onto an audio track of the scene director in your Scene Group scene.

the method works exactly as you said.

I was mistaken because I tried to start the roll with sound in the layout

and there was no sound played

although the soundfile was on the audio track in the scene director in my Scene Group scene.

Is the behavior of the roll with sound in the layout correct, or is it a bug?

When I take the scene online in the sequence, the audio file is played back.

This may depend on the audio hardware setup in your computer.

I don't know the details, but we are set up opposite to you - I can hear files played in the layout, but not the sequencer.
