With Panel LINK on in Dash Board

1-Going from BKGD to any KEY on the switcher DASH Board follows but trying to go back to BKGD DASH board does not follow.

2- Selecting any key in DASH Board the switcher does not follow.

Is this a know problem?

Hi Robert,

DashBoard LiveAssist follows switcher actions that have associated functions, so pressing a key on the panel will result in the keyer menu being displayed. However when you select background there are no associated control functions so the menu will not follow. When you select a transition type it will. i.e. Dissolve. Just selecting the BKGD key has no action until you select the transition - does that make sense? This is actually the same in the menu follow on the panel itself.

Regarding switcher following LiveAssist actions - this is not a bug but normal operation. The system is designed to only follow the panel as it is the master.

The LiveAssist system design is continuing to evolve and you will see many new features and enhancements added in next releases. We truly appreciate everyones input and suggestions as it helps tremendously in ensuring we address any shortcomings and necessary improvements.

As I see it BKGD does have an associated control function DIS, WIPE, DVE, AND MEDIA. Just as the key has SELF, AUTO SELECT, CHR KEY, AND DVE. It really would be nice to have DASH Board and the control panel follow each other all the time. If I am working on a BKGD I wand both DASH Board and control panel on the same page. That means DASH Board needs to be on it's TRANS page. If I am working on a key no matter where I start from DASH Board or Control panel I want to see the key displayed and the key # on DASH Board. This cuts down the time in making a quick change and making mistakes thinking you are working in a certain menu when you are not. I work with both side by side so having DASH Board display the same function I an working in is a grate plus.

I see your point Robert, you would like LiveAssist to go to the Trans menu when BKGD is pressed. Maybe its a possible user option in a later release, however I would point out that if I press a key button in the transition area it takes me to the key setup menu and there is no setup for background, so this would not follow current panel operation logic.

I will note your request and see if its possible to add it to a personality setting in the future.

I understand what you are saying but the only way now to access BKGD (Trans) mode in DASH Board is by using a mouse or if you have one the touch screen. The most logical button to use would be the BKGD on the switcher. If that would cause a problem make it selectable. Or a double hit on the BKGD button would call it up. Again for me this would be of great value. Thanks so much.
