  • 1.  Masking Question

    Hey all-

I am pretty new to Xpression and to the community. This question feeds crazy simple & silly, but I just can't quite figure out how to do this and would appreciate any guidance.

I uploaded two images - one of what this is supposed to look like, and one of what my Xpression project looks like right now. Basically, I need to now how to make a mask so I can crop out the edges overflowing over my box. Any suggestions?

You could just set the quad with the image to the size you want to use and change the position and scaling under the texture cords tab (not transform) until it's cropped how you want it.

If you do want to mask it you need to make a material and then set the blending mode to alpha masks. Then apply it to an object such as a quad and position it where you want to cut the image. To see how the mask is correctly affecting your scene you'll need to place the object you want to mask and the object with the mask material inside a layer object.

I'd like to add that to keep your mask from affecting other scene objects, put it in it's own layer with the textured quad.
