Did some searching around cant find any documentation on this.

Does anyone know if there is a way to keep text in a single line? With my setup for a name key, I have two text objects. Line 1 Text is for a Name Key Line 2 Text is for a secondary key. When text is entered with breaks in the text a new row of text is created.

Here's a screen shot of what is happening. Essentially I want to keep the text inside the template data (3lines) the way it is but have the text in the on air key stay inside the red bar in one single line

    Photo

I am trying to speed up the processes of creating name keys etc.. I direct and create keys, the way the template data text shows up in the image is how it comes to me in a digital script. I just copy and paste the info in. Any ideas would help.

    I hope that makes sense.

Yeah... if someone from the newsroom enters in something with line breaks, I go through and remove them, reformatting the text. I don't know of another way to go about this.

Most of the staff don't do this but there are one or two folks who either hit "return" or paste in material that already has line breaks.

If XPression were able to ignore the line breaks that would be one solution I guess.

Just add this one line script to the OnSetText script for the text object:

    `Text = Replace(Text, vbCrLf, " ")`

    Thanks for the replies!

Brian: I tired the code and that didn't work. I think I put it in the right spot. I'm not the best with the scripting side of xpression. The " " are red in the script, would that mean there is an issue with the scripting?

The red is normal.. Did you compile the script after you pasted it in?
