I have a super that animates on, has 2 lines of text, and has a pause event set at 48 frames and a take offline event at 69 frames in the scene director. I want to be able to update the text live on the air while the super is paused, and animate off when I tell it to continue past the pause. The super has 2 looping avi's in it (in case that makes a difference as to how to best accomplish this). I have tried putting multiple instances of it in the sequencer, but when I use the "play range" function in Scene Control (set to 48 frames), the old super stays out there and the new text doesn't show up.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

You could use a "Data Page" to change the text in the paused super.. You need to create a new group in the sequencer that will hold a page with the new text that you want to replace in the super. Click on the group, and change it's Playout Mode to "Data Pages". Then drag another copy of your Super template into the data page group. You can edit the text for that item to be the new text that you want to replace in the original super (which should NOT be in the Data Pages group). When you put the original super page to air and it is paused, you can now edit the copy in the data pages group and double click it. This should replace the text in the on-air copy of the super. The data page should say "Applied". You can then resume the original page when you are ready to play it out.. When the original page goes off-air the data page will be taken off air as well.

You can have multiple copies of the scene in the data pages group with different "preset" values that you might want to change the super too.. You can even put the data page on-air before the original super page, in which case it will get applied as soon as the super goes on air..

    Hope this makes sense..

Since it's not entirely obvious how this mechanism works, the data page will be applied to whatever sequencer item is already on air on the same channel and layer as the data page is set to. Any published objects in the data page template will look for a matching object in the on-air template that has the exact same name. The data page does not actually need to be built using the same template as the on-air page, as long as it has similarly named text objects.. E.g. in your case the page that you drag into the data page group can simply be blank except for a single text object with the same name as the object in your super template.

I'm not given a data page option when I create a sequencer group. I get Manual, Timed, or Crawl.

This is only in version 5.0 and above. Which version are you using?

When I change the data in an on-air super from a data page in the sequencer, I can only get the data to do a cut transition. How can I get it to dissolve?
