  • 1.  XPression - Animation / Pre-compositing

    Posted 10-13-2014 12:57
    Hi all,

As asked before I need to know if there is anyone out there than can help me recreate a pre-compositing like environment. I need to be able to save the keyframes of an animation but be able to freely swap a PNG image to stick with those keyframes only needing to be able to freely change X-Scale, Y-Scale, and perhaps Z-Scale. Any input is helpful.

    Thanks

The keyframes control the quad, but not the material applied to it. So, once the quad has the desired animation, all you do is replace the material assigned to it. And to change the scales during playback, just publish that object and enable x,y or z scale.

Is there away to control whether the material is forced to fit the size of the quad? We would like the material to import into XPression without forced distortion.

you can select "maintain aspect ratio of material" on the quad you use. that will eliminate distortion

Thanks so much for all of your input @malthepa. Is this possible with text as well?

Text has many different things you can do. You can auto size it to fit the quad, or you can use auto squeeze. Or you can lock the characters so they won't resize if you want.

I achieved what I wanted almost entirely. I just made my keyframes on my quad, and then swapped the image in the material tab in template data on the sequence page.
