  • 1.  Match frame into a 3-point loop

I have two clips (each with a 3-point loop in material) that I need to play back-to-back seamlessly on a cue. The trick is, once the first clip is into it's loop, I will need to cue the second clip so that the frame of the online loop is on matches the first frame of the incoming clip. A dissolve won't work in this situation as the movements in the clip are sharp. Is there a way to have the incoming clip wait for a certain frame of the online clip to be played before it cues, or even better, on a cue have the online clip jump to a specific frame in the loop and immediately play the next clip? I appreciate any assistance.

The only way I can think to do something like this would be to put them both in the same scene on the same scene director. Have an event on the scene director that performs the loop for the first clip. Place clip B immediately after Clip A.. When playing this from the sequencer, clip A should continue looping until you hit Enter again, this will cause the loop event to be skipped over then next time the play head reaches it, so instead of looping it will play into Clip B. You would also need an animation controller that hides the quad for the first clip and shows the quad for the second.. I'm not sure this will work for what you need, but it's all I can think of..

That is an interesting approach. I'll have to try it and see what happens. It depends on how long the loop is, as it might cause too much of a delay in cuing for this project which requires some perfect timing. I was hoping there was some online script or something that could address a jump to a certain frame before playing the next item. Thanks for this, I'm going to play around.
