  • 1.  Pressing enter twice on a take item

I noticed that if I hit enter twice on a take item, the data in the text fields will revert to whatever I have typed into the templates. Is this a feature, bug, or is there something I'm supposed to be doing to prevent this behavior?

Pressing enter again should re-apply any of the template data as specified in the sequencer take item (this allows you to change the data and update an on-air item).

Are you using OnOnline scripts to change any of the data in the template? If so, then that probably explains the behavior you are seeing. The OnOnline will only run the very first time the scene goes online; therefore the second time you hit enter, you will get whatever data is specified in the Template Data fields.

    Alrighty, Thanks!

EDIT: I had to create some scenes that show multiple pages of information. This feature felt like it created an unnecessary risk. The CG op could lose track of how many pages of information they went through and accidentally show the default template text. To prevent his, I placed a pause event at the end of the animation controller which jumps back one frame.

Hitting enter on my keyboard just continues/takes the scene on air for me. How can i easily update the data I have in my scene while its onair?

Set the text object to 'live update' (checkbox when assigning it a Datalinq).
Or create a looping scene director with a script event with Scene.RefreshDatalinqs() in it.
