    Hi all,

I'm attempting to use the Xpression Video Coder to prepare existing video clips for import onto Xpression.

Coming from a MAC platform, I'm rendering out of After Effects as quicktime with H264 compression, then converting to an .AVI using 'MPEG Steamlip'.

Is there a specific file format/compression codec combination that I need to use so I can import into the Video Encoder?

    Hi Anthony,

Uncompressed Quicktime or AVI will work great.

    Anthony,

I'd use uncompressed QuickTime or QuickTime with Animation compressor (lossless). The Video Coder will take them directly. If you compress with H.264 first, you'll be compressing a compressed file and will lose quality as well as have a bigger file when you're done.

    Good luck,

    Brian

Thanks for your responses guys, but .mov files are not being accepted into the video encoder on my PC. The only 'supported file formats' for video that are offered are .AVI and MPEGs. (and .XVF?)

Has there been an update to the encoder that I perhaps don't have?

    Anthony,

Make sure QuickTime is installed on the PC. It's a free download from apple.com

    That should do the trick.

    I'll try this.

Sometimes it's the obvious things like that you can over-look.

    Thanks.
