I am considering buying a Crossover Solo with the Xpression Live CG for government meetings. I am concerned about being able to operate it and that it might be too complicated. I would just be starting off using its basic functions for titling. Can anyone comment on its ease of use?

Valerie, I use that combination for our local town meetings and it all works nicely. XPression is a bit steep to learn strictly for live CG, especially for talking heads, but it's a big beefy 3D animation package so you'll have a tool to do some jazzy stuff. I'm also using the PC for a bit more than running XPression, so if you can justify it it's money well spent. As for the Solo, it's a powerful little beast that allows a lot of flexibility for live government access. With three keyers I can have a live bug but send my encoder a clean feed without it and still slate the meeting and any or all guests and have that be encoded for on-demand and the live stream.

    HTH,

    Geoff.

Thank you for the information. It is good to hear from people who are using the equipment. The CG might be too elaborate for us right now but I like the Solo.

    Valerie,

We would be happy to arrange an online demo for you to show you the features and interface in XPression. That could give a better idea of usage and it would give Team XPression a way to answer your questions.
