Is it possible to put a 3 point loop on an avi? The movie file has a 3 second animation at the beginning of it to bring it in, but is built to be looped between the 3 second mark and the 30 second mark.

    Thanks

Yes, but you accomplish it in the Scene Director. First, setup the material to not auto-play or free-run. We want the Scene Director to control its playback.

Next, drag the material into a Scene Director track. At the end of the clip on the Scene Director, place an Event. The event properties should be that you'll jump to the frame you wish to jump to (if you're an interlaced format, it'll jump to frame 90; if progressive, frame 180) and make sure that it's NOT relative. Also check to make sure that it's not set to pause. Set that option to none.

Lastly, you may need to put this event one frame in before the end of the video clip on the Scene Director. When the play head of the Scene Director hits the last frame of a Scene, it stops. So when it jumps to frame, it jumps and is stopped. If you put it one frame earlier, it continues the loop.

    Hi Chris...

I have 3-point looping on all the clips I am using for a particular project and I am using the method you detailed above. The problem comes when I have one clip used across multiple successive pages where only the text changes. The items are played out back-to-back. I want the clip to continue playing as I go through the successive pages. How do I prevent the clip from re-setting each time. I've tried various permutation of auto-start and free-run, but I'm obviously missing something. Do I need scripting here? Please help?!

    Thanks,

    Ilana
