1. Where can I find a user guide I can print?

2. Since I am using Designer, even though I can make an animation sequence, I can't take that animation live correct? (it will look like a still graphics instead of moving)

Designer is offline only, however you can go to the sequencer, right click on the item you wish to export and export as a video or image sequence. In the latest versions you can also set a duration and use the in/out feature of transition logic.

You can take animations live in a seperate window with a Virtual Output. To set it up, go to Edit > Hardware Setup > Inputs/Outputs > Add... > Xpression Virtual Output. You can add multiple virtual outputs if you need to simulate an environment with multiple output channels. The animations should look good as long as your computer has a decent graphics card.
