Greetings - Not necessarily an Xpression question or issue but would like to see if anyone experiences issues with with Daktronics scoreboards not passing power play clocks and penalty data to the All Sports CG? We are able to receive all the other data in Xpression except for Power Play clocks. Daktronics has said this is a known issue and have no resolution. Are there folks out there who broadcast hockey who experience this issue and what work around is out there. It would be nice to not have a clock feed video cropped on our bug.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Greg,

The Daktronics TV Data feed protocol that is outputted to external devices (like XPression) from the scoreboard does not include power play or penalty clocks in the Hockey game mode. Daktronics would need to add those clocks to the serial feed outputted by the All Sports systems.

There may be a solution using Daktronics DSTI systems but I am not certain.

I know some people who use Graphics Outfitters ScoreboardOCR systems with a scoreboard camera to convert the cameras video capture into a data stream that could be read by XPression in (near?) real-time.

I've only had experience with the Daktronics systems at the NHL arenas and those definitely include Penalty clocks. Usually those facilities use the Daktronics DSTI system.
