    Hello

We are having problems installing Xpression 3.20_1766. PC works fine with Windows, plus XMIO2 board/drivers, but when we install Xpression the system blue screens.

We tried downgrading the nVidia drivers to v. 266.58 however they did not install with the Elsa/nVidia GTS450SP1GB we have. nVidia Japan said that the v.266.58 drivers do not support our GTS450SP and we must use v.270.61.

I would like to reconfirm the latest drivers for the nVidia GTS series, Matrox XMIO2 drivers, and Xpression.

    Our system:

    GraphicBoard; ELSA/nVidia GLADIAC GTS450SP 1GB

    HD/SD I/O Cardï¼› MATROX XMIO2/12/6000*

    CPU; Core i5 650 3.20GHz 4M (LGA1156) x1

    Memory; PC/10600 DDR3 2048MB x2

    MotherBoard; Supermicro C7SIM-Q x1

    OS Windows 7 32-bit Japanese

    Hi Doug,

I can't tell you anything about the Matrox drivers since we don't use those boards, but I neither have had any problems with any nVidia driver in the last 6 years (I even used the lastest I downloaded last friday), nor have I had XPression causing blue screens. In fact, any combination of nVidia drivers with any build of XPression should work, as long as the nVidia driver supports your card obviously.

This unfortunately doesn't tell you what's wrong, but it does tell you what isn't wrong.

You could take our the Matrox board, uninstall the drivers and see what happens when you install XPression again. If you still get blue screens, then it isn't the Matrox-driver either.

Is it possible that some software is installed on the computer that could conflict with XPression? Something that uses DirextX as well and gets launched in the background when Windows boots?

    Good luck!

    Kind regards,

    Gerard

    Hi Doug,

Let me reply to this message and confirm with you that these forums are meant to be questions about doing things in XPression, and not specific support issues on hardware, drivers, etc.

Please direct these type of questions to TechSupport@rossvideo.com. They can confirm approved driver versions and DSX Utulities as well.

I really appreciate your feedback on this problem Gerard. We haven't had any problems much as well with the installation until we changed the graphics card. The Direct X idea is a good one, and one I had not thought of. There is a possibility of some other software installed.
