  • 1.  Limitation of files or entries in Sequence

We have been experiencing some problems with the XPression when loading the sequence via text file thru datalinq. The Legislative session is now underway and brings the need to enter all the bills that are brought up during the session which can get up into several thousand. We tried entering a couple of thousand utilizing the text file/datalinq method and after the computer imported all the bills the sequence and application hung up. Is there a way around this, freeing up more buffer space etc?

What version and build of XPression are you running?
This has been fixed in newer versions of XPression. XPression version 6.0 and 6.1 will be able to better handle very large take item lists. And XPression 6.2 even better handles huge numbers of take items that use Datalinq, widgets and preview scripts.
There is no work around in the previous versions of XPression - although there was a patched version of older builds that also corrected this issue.
Your biggest issue with upgrading your XPression is that it may not be compatible with your Ross LCS systems after upgrading. We will need to consult with the LCS team to ensure you upgrade to a supported version of XPression for LCS.

Looking through the Connecticut Network product list (is that you?) it looks like you don't have a Ross LCS system? Just using XPression graphics?
In that case you are probably free to just upgrade, assuming you are in software warranty. You can contact techsupport@rossvideo.com to upgrade your XPression.
