    Hey guys,

We are trying to datalinq a live sound meter reading from the stadium and would love any advice on how to bring that in through Xpression. The following is copied from an email I received regarding the type of data it can push out...

"I'm not sure what formats you can interface with but I can push that out in an RS-485 line fom a port either in our booth or down in the amp room on the mezannine level. To pack it back to the studio, we would have to convert it over to fiber. Either way, anything is possible!"

    Is this possible?

It's possible it would work, but you would need to look at the actual data that it sends. If you could capture some data in Hyperterminal or another serial program and posted it we might be able to answer better.

You would probably use the ASCII datalinq to receive the data (but it all depends on how the sound meter sends the data).

You would need an RS422 to RS232 converter to convert the data to feed it into the XPression serial port.

I recommend this one: RS422 Converter

Thanks Brian! I will pass along this information and see if we can get this functionality going.
