  • 1.  XPression - DataLinq Server Limitations?

    Hi all,

Just had another quick question for the community and hopefully it helps others out as well with an answer. Would it at all be an issue for operation, to have what I believe will be, 64 separate datalinq server connections? These different connections of course pointing to 64 different XML links? Any input is helpful.

This is a tough question that doesn't have an absolute answer.

There is no 'X' limitation for XPression Datalinq. There are a large number of factors that can determine what the Datalinq Server can handle.

    For example:

    - what type of data sources are being used

    - are the sources local, over a network, or serial

    - the version of XPression software

    - the number of engines connecting to the Datalinq Server

    - the rate at which the data sources change/update

    - the rate at which the XPression engines access the Datalinq Servers data cache

    - the variety of data sources used in the Datalinq Server

I would recommend that you try setting up the 64 data sources and seeing if it works - and if you encounter issues let us know.

I know that isn't a great answer (and maybe a member of development can add more) but there is no absolute answer for this scenario.
