We have a couple short video files (Xpression Codec) that we've been using in our Xpression project for about a year now. An opener, and a bumper. On our last show though, these files were playing back very slowly, and the perf meter would jump up to about 140% while playing.

I had this issue once about a month back, but a reboot fixed it. But that's not the case anymore.

Any idea what could be causing this?

I would double check the frame rate of the video clips and the project to make sure they match.

Another bit of info: The issue only exists when playing through the hardware output. When playing through the virtual monitor, they play fine.

I played all the videos out both a Virtual FB and out a hardware matrox output and they all played at the same speed.

If the perf jumped to 140, was something else online on a different layer using up resources maybe?

Yes I am still able to reproduce the issue. Nothing else is online. As I mentioned, we've been using these clips for the better part of a year now with no issues, so I'm thinking maybe hardware issue?

Maybe.. I'd contact tech support and maybe they can log into your machine to observe the issue..

If anyone else has this problem, our tech support guy went into the hardware setup, and removed the video card from the outputs, then re-added it again. So far so good! :)

I have a similar issue here. Video (nba player SOT) is playing fine video wise however audio is out of sync.

Audio being out of sync is often caused by rendering the file to XPression codec from within another application and it does not have the Audio Interleaving value set to 1 frame. If you download the free open source MediaInfo and examine the file, check the "Interleave Duration" value in the audio section to see if it is set to "1 frame".

I made a quick fix by exporting the audio in .wav and just applied it to an audio track. I can then slip it into sync and also adjust output levels.
