hi guys is there a way to change the background color on the Virtual Output window from black to any other color, i am having trouble seeing darker parts of my lower third

No, but you can put any scene you want on a layer behind your graphic. So you could create a fully white scene and put it on layer -100 on the virtual output.
Then any scenes in front of layer -100 will be keyed over the white.
