Recently acquired ROSS Xpression CG ver 5.1 based on Win7 64bits. We do have two older ROSS Xpression CG version 4.x hardware which are running on WinXP 32bit. Will version 5.x install on these older ROSS Xpression WinXP 32bit models? Love the Effects tab feature on version 5.x which is not available on version 4.x. Appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Kwan,

Yes - it is possible to install XPression 5+ on the older WinXP 32bit systems. Those WinXP systems do not have as much horsepower as the newer Win7 64bit systems but they do not have any software limits. You may find that you can't run as many of the more resource intensive effects (like drop shadows) on the WinXP systems than the Win7 system.

You can contact Tech Support to find out if you are eligible to upgrade your XPression software.

Thanks Garner, understood those limits on XP 32bit hardwares. We were in consideration to refurbish them into Win7 but as suggested, it will be perfect to run them on newer Ross hardware like our recent purchased unit. I felt the difference as I do work between these two OS platform. Hope to acquire a decent budget to purchase newer Ross Xpression hardware instead of refurbishing the old ones, they just running fine without much bells and whistles. I learn alot from reading post in this forum. Xpression user for 4 years and loving it more on ver5.x. Thanks for the great tip. Regards from SG.
