Hello, I have a question. I have a lower 3rd that animates on. It was created in After Effects and has no key frames I brought it in as a .mov file. As for the text, I created it in Xpression and all I did was add key frames for when I wanted the text to dissolve up. I just changed the alpha from 0 to 100. This worked out well. My problem is when I try to move the text box around to maybe slide it to the left or slide it to the right to make sure it is staying centered because sometimes it needs tweaking. But when I do this and replay the animation it reverts the text back to the original position before I moved it. How can I move the text box around and not have it revert back to the original location? Im more concerned about building stat boards. If I need to move the text boxes around a bit to make them fit on the page better I cannot have it reverting back to its original position. I need the text box to take the new position and I really don't want to have to go back and relay key frames every time I may have to move text around.

    thank you

    Jen

    Hi Jen,

The reason your textfield is jumping back to the original position is probably because you have also selected the X, Y and Z-position when you created your Keyframes.

When you're creating keyframes, the key is to only select the values that you need. In this case, only the Alpha and you should uncheck everything else. Otherwise these values will also be saved in the keyframe. To make sure these values are not saved, click on the words "Position", "Scale" and "Rotation" until they turn red. Then these values won't be saved along.

See if that works for you?

    Good luck,

    Kenneth
