Hi everyone. I recently became the full time newscast director at a local affiliate and was only trained for about a month and a half before the two directors training me took jobs elsewhere and I was pretty much left to fend for myself. We no longer have an operations manager, so here's no one left to train me but the Ross videos on youtube, and I haven't found one yet that answers this question:

My boss (news director) asked me to create an editable fullscreen CG template, which I did by duplicating one and editing it in the current XPression Studio project that we use for our newscast each night (we do one show per day so this project stays open 24/7). What I'm trying to do is get this template to appear in the MOS editor in iNews. I'm just about done editing the elements on the CG itself, but I'd like to test it in iNews and see if it actually functions properly. I don't know where to begin with actually getting it into the MOS editor so our producers/reporters can edit the template in the newsroom. Does this make sense? The CG is on the list of "scenes" in XPression, but after saving that project, it has not popped up in iNews in the MOS editor. I'm lost in the sauce on this one, pretty much just winging everything.

Forgive me if this is a really basic question. I've been doing this without anyone else left to train me since mid June. I'm also a full time college student and I've been playing catch-up with this job just about every day. If there's a video that explains this (I haven't found one yet that answers this exact question) feel free to link that for me to take a look at.

Thanks everyone for your time and patience. Have a great day!

The answer to the question will depend on if your station has a Project Server or not.

If you do, then you need to publish the project to the project server using the Publish menu in XPression.

If you don't, then you need to make sure you copy the updated project to the preview engine computer as well as all of the Playout Studio/Bluebox engines.

Thanks for the help! That didn't make 100% sense at first but it was enough guidance to lead me in the right direction and I got the thing loaded into iNews. Now I just have some more XPression videos to watch to figure the graphics out...
