  • 1.  Xpression Studio: Failed to Save

    Posted 05-12-2015 19:51
Our Xpression Studio v5.7 build software has been displaying an error dialogue window whenever we press "Save" or "Save as" to save the project. It simply states, "An error occurred while saving." No further information is provided.

We are attempting to save the project with the following naming convention. It has not provided us with this issue before now.

Anthony, have you tried to reopen the project yet?

This is usually an indication the project file has been corrupted and XPression will not be able to reopen it. That being said, It should try to load a backup project from your last successful save. You will lose your work between the last successful save and the failed save.

In newer versions XPression might record the cause of the failed save in the log file allowing you to correct the issue before attempting to save. What version are you running? The log files can be found in ProgramFilesx86XPression StudioLogs.

Thanks for your response Andrew. We had did not want to close the project yet as we did not want to lose all of the alterations made in between saves. We tried Exporting the whole package. However, neither the Xpression Studio machine nor a separate Xpression Designer machine have been able to effectively deploy the Project Package.

We are running Xpression Studio v5.7 build 3064.

I can check the Logs to see if it mentions anything. But basically from what you're saying, there is no way to effectively save the project? We will just have to close it all down. Then reopen an earlier version of the project and make all the changes again?

Is there any sort of fail-safe to prevent this from occurring again in the future?
