    Hi all,

Recently we are trying to adopt new measures to archive our project files so that we may recall on them at a later date and import those assets as we see fit. Currently, we're testing "Saving As" on our current master project file to the same file name in addition to a date range. (Example: Master = "NFL_BUILD_2" and the saved as archive would be "NFL_BUILD_2_52515_thru_52915") The only issue we have seen is that all of the fonts we had to bring into the system have no been lost in that new archived project file. I assume it is because the archived file has been saved to a folder inside of the actual XPression folder and has been disconnected from the fonts. Is there a way to avoid this without moving the file out of that new archive folder?

    Thanks!

We just export every package as an xpp and save those. That way, all the assets are in one file, in one place. If we need them, we check our change logs to see when a change went into effect in order to either revert back to a prior version, or find something that was put in.

Initially, I thought that might be a good solution, however, our export packages every week would be too large to use in and archive process. Upwards of 8Gb file sizes each time we export. Has anyone else had any luck with an archiving process?

The project server is the best solution. It archives the whole project so everything is in one place, but it only keeps the changes between versions so it is very quick to upload/download from.
