Most basic transition logic scenario imaginable, giving me absolute fits

    Ok....

I have a scene with 2 videos in it. All I need to have happen is play the first video on in, and then when chaning to the next scene, have it play the second video of the current scene and then immediately play the first video of the new scene.

I have the first part working... the first video of scene A plays, when I take the next scene the second video of scene A plays, just as I want it to... BUT the first video of the newly taken scene does not play... the last frame merely pops on after a few seconds.

I just don't get why that could be... If I play that second scene on its own, said first video plays.. but the TL is failing me... mounting pressure, and I am at a complete loss...

You can upload it to: http://transfer.rossvideo.com
    Login as,
    user: xpression
    password: rossvideo

Just create a folder and upload it and let me know what it's called. The account is write-only, so after you upload it you won't be able to see it.

or whatever file share you use.

i mean, obviously I can get this to work without using TL... but I'd rather not have to make the operator remember remember to switch between continue points and taking the next scene... it would be preferable to occur all in one action...

I have a better understanding of what you want to do now that I'm looking at your scenes.
It does appear to be pretty challenging.
Everything being full frame video makes this much much harder, because you can't render any of the B2B on top of each other, you always need to let the other scene play its full frame out video before the next scene comes in. That's why you're seeing the last frame of video pop in. It will definitely require using scene triggers to trigger the scene directors of the B2B scenes somehow.
I'm pretty sure this can be done with TL, but everything being full frame solid video really complicates it.
I certainly need more time with the scene to figure it out.

Ok, well I have to admit I am relieved that its not just me being a moron... I appreciate greatly your efforts to find a solution... if it simply can't be done, i can use a single director with a continue point and a pause at the end of the second clip.. it won't be as elegant, nor efficient as the operator would like - as the process would require an extra command per step but it'll get the job done. Once we tackle that, I may need to pick your brain with respect to the scripting needs of the numbers for the multiple choice answers.

and if there is anything I can do to help you and ultimately repay the kindness, just let me know. Seriously... I'd be lost without you guys

Oh - and of course, right now, I have only 0 and 1 o the sample scene... ultimately there will be 0-9 and the order in which the operator plays the scenes will be random.. not a straight low to high or left to right scenario. I don't think that would further complicate anything, but I don't want to leave any details out which might be crucial down the road...

You know - the more I work with this setup, the more convinced I am that TL is an overthink here. I literally just have both the in and out video now in one director with a pause point after each, and it is super easy to go from one scene to the next. So, I'd say save your brain power there Garner, and let me know if you can offer any help in the area of number highlights script... that's the thing that's really got me knackered
