  • 1.  Xpression on Windows 8

    I just purchased a new computer for my xpression live and the machine is Windows 8. I was able to load the software and it talks to my switcher but I can not drop and images into it that we have created. We were able to do this before. Is this a windows 8 issue or am I missing something in the setup of expression?

    Thanks

    Have you configured the RossLinq connector between the switcher and XPression Live (Designer)?

    yes all that works the issue is in the designer I can not drag or import any images. I am following I think all the same steps as before but it will not import the images. If I go back to the old computer and do it everything works.

    Do you mean the images aren't showing in the material manager, thumbnails, preview, the viewport, or the output?

    Can you be more specific about what you mean by the images won't import?

    Sorry we usually create the image in photo shop and than just bring over and put them in a folder on the computer and than just drag them into the xpression software. When we try to do this it will not allow us to drop them in

    Can you create a texture material normally?

    Material Manager > New Material > Add Shader - Texture2D > Browse

    There is no setup in XPression for the drag and drop to create materials. I imagine it's a Windows 8 issue.

    You can try this:

    * Right-click on desktop->choose Personalization.

    * Select High Contrast #1 and the select Windows and exit Personalization.

    * Go to Control Panel->System->Advanced System Settings->Settings under Performance.

    * Select Let Windows choose what's best for my computer->uncheck top three in list i.e. Animate controls…, Animate windows…,Animations… + Apply + OK

    * Open XPression and the masking should be gone.
