New to Xpression and I am trying to connect the Datalinq server and I am getting an error that
the provider can not be found. It may not be properly installed. However I do see in the about section that it does not show I have a license for it. Only Designer and Video Codec. Should I un-intsall and re-install? Is it possible I was just not assigned a license?

That is not a licensing issue. That implies the driver for whatever adodb source you are trying to access is not installed. For example if trying to read xlsx files you need the Access Database Engine 2010 installed.

You'll need to provide more details as to what you are trying to do.

Thank you, I had the latest version of Excel installed and usually save the file in .xlsx format and thought that should have worked. If it is the Access Database Engine then no that was not installed. I did resolve the issue by saving the Excel file as an older version .xls file and that did work. I do apologize for the lack of detail. Don't know what I don't kinda sittuation. Brand new to Xpression and have not quite finished all the XpressionU videos. Thank you @bford

Brian, can i use Excel data on a system that doesn't have Excel installed? Did I just see above there are drivers/engines I can install, instead of installing the full software package?

Yes, you can use the ADODB datalinq to read XLS (not XLSX) files without installing any additional software in windows..

Thanks, Brian. Where is the best place to find documentation on these details about datalinq?

@ChaseGatyas Thanks Chase. I know that seems like a basic start, but I feel like sometimes I do not find what I need in the Ross manuals. But thank you for the link!
