I'm wondering if anyone else has had problems with published items not loading the data that should be populated by a data source. The issues can be very sporadic. For example, a scene will work for weeks in the building where I built the scene but when we move it out to the production truck, the published item won't read from an XML until it's unpublished. I've grown accustomed to making sure publishing is off for any text which uses a data source but I'd like to know if it's supposed to be able to handle external data and being published at the same time.

Are both XPression systems running the same version of software?

They are running the same version but the behavior doesn't require transferring the project. If I have a text object that is datalinq'd to a spreadsheet or xml document, etc and it's published, the data source may or may not get displayed. The text can be behaving one way for quite some time until something changes it. (Similar to the behavior of quads placed on the same z space) I am curious to what the behavior should be when there's conflicting data between being published and having a data source.

If you're running a recent version, then the published state in the sequencer will actually dictate whether or not it's linked to a data source, based on which tab is selected in the template data. You can override the static text with either datalinq or widget values right from the Template Data tab in the sequencer.

Ah dang. They did sneak that update in on me and now I don't know if it's the same version out in the truck. Thanks!
