  • 1.  How to do a mask effect in 3D space

    Hi
If I wanted to have an object drop down in the middle of 3D space as if appearing from no-where, how can you do this without using a layer object with a mask? If I use a layer object as I would in a 2D scene, I get the desired effect, but if I have the wrong camera angle, everything in the layer object can get keyed over the top of everything else regardless of it's Z position.

    Thanks
    Simon

No. this cannot be done without a layer object / mask. Have you had a play with Layer ordering?

Problem is I can't put the whole scene into a layer object, as I need the external keying to work, and a layer object doesn't seem to have any external key output, even if the objects inside it do!
