Since about 2-3 weeks, we notice some instability issues with Xpression.

Actually it has nothing to do with the Xpression Version. We have got these issues on different machines with version 4.3 as well as with version 5.1 All machines running under Win7.

One system which is not affected, is a machine which has got no network connections in a production environment.

My idea is, that maybe something happened since the last Microsoft patchday, as we encountered the first occurence around that date. But this is not a proven idea just a suspicion. So I would like to know, whether anyone else has noticed something similar.

The result is an AV with a complete white Xpression GUI. Once, I have even noticed that the screen was coming back after a couple of minutes, drawing the GUI screens very slowly item by item. Usually I did not wait that long, so I cannot say if the GUI would come back always. Usually it is necessary to kill the application through the task manager.

Other software on the system is not affected as far as we can see. As we did not update any graphic drivers it seems to be obvious, that there is an OS issue.

So again: Has anyone else encountered similar problems and preferably a solution or hint?

Hi Tom,

we have our machines supplied with the latest windows updates (windows update reports there are no updates available in present). We do not encounter such issues with 4.3 built 2236. That built seemed to be very stable, thus we use it for production since december 2012.

I have tested the betas of 5.1 and have encountered instabilities (not nessasarily the same ones), but I did not spent time finding anything out on them. Maybe you try out built 4.3 2236 and see what happens.
