Graphics

Hello All,

I am running Xpression 6.5 and my question is about running graphics exported from After Effects

Our graphics package was made in AF but I would like to control it like a graphic in Xpression by using the pause function in the scene director. Right now, as a work around, I had the guy doing our graphics make me an in and an out animation of his lower third for an on and and off. I have them being triggered in Dashboard but 2 cc is taking up to much room and itd be nice to know, How do you guys work with graphics made in a software not Xpression. Is it posible to control them in the with pauses in the scene director?

Put the video material in the scene director and then put pause events in the scene director. Make sure to turn off auto start and free running on the video material.

@garner thank you so much for that, sir. Now it pauses but will not play the out animation that the lower third has built into it, thoughts? thank you again!

Is the out animation on the scene director? If the out animation is a video material have you turned off auto start and free running?

Hello. I found an interesting idea. Interactive control pause in the online stage.
If you want to put in pause mode scene, You change counter from "0" to "1". Counter You connected to text in datasourse counter. And create in Visual Logic sheme to control. If text = 1 then SD pause. Another - SD play.
It is worked! I tried it!

You need paste the material on timeline, and turned off auto start and free running.

@garner it is a lower third with an in and an out animation built in made in after effects which i bring in as a video material on a quad. I took off auto start and free running and the pause works to pause the animation but then when i hit enter for it to finish it just goes offline. it does not play the rest of the animation.

@Sample82 thank you for your response. I am kind of confused as to what you are saying though. I'm fairly new to Xpression

It would probably be easiest if you post a picture of your scene director or even easier if you post a sample project with the issue you are having.

"‹So here is my scene director. Those control events I have in there will not effect the After Effects animation I have as the video playing in the scene. The events take place when I run the element (it will say pause) but it will not effect the actual animation. Here is the photo of my scene director. Also you can see my scene manager, the in and out scenes are my work around I have done so I can control my lower third animation on and off.

You need to drag and drop material with your after effects video in it onto the Scene Director. You need the video to be in the timeline for it to be effected by the events on the timeline.

Right now your timeline just has an Animation Controller on it, not the actual video material.
