I was wondering if it was possible to move text boxes according to the width of another. I have a template name key that has the first and last names on separate layers. I was wondering if the last name's text box would be able to automatically move if the first name's box got to a certain width. I attached a screenshot to illustrate what I mean.

Certainly, you need to use visual logic. Take the bounding box width of the first text box with an offset and connect to the X pos of the object you want to move.

That kind of worked but is there a way for it to automatically do it? I was thinking that if a user would put a name longer that "bruce" in the MOS plugin could it automatically compensate?

That method offsets automatically based off of what your text length is. You might just need to experiment with it in order to find what offset fits your scene best. The offset also looks different based off of your text alignment (left, right, center).

It offsets it in design mode but what I am trying to do is make it so if I were to type a longer name that "bruce" could I make it so the last name text box will move over so it won't overlap each other when the user makes the keys for the show in the MOS plugin. Sorry I'm not trying to be difficult. I just don't think I'm explaining my problem as best as I could.

If you build it how I have said it will work in the MOS plugin as well.

Yeah, this is how you do it, just be sure to make the last name a child of the first name text box and the offset you choose will determine the space between the two as well as the x-position of the last name.

I'm sorry. I didn't realize that that did work. I thought I was going to see it happen on the layout screen. It wasn't doing anything but I happened to notice that it was doing what it was supposed to be doing on the little thumbnails on the left. Sorry! Thanks so much both of you for the help!

In order for it to work in the Viewport, you need to click on the little blue diamond at the top of the viewport to enable Visual Logic.
